Nope scene analysis:
The beginning of the scene has an effect added in post production to put the viewers perspective to what is being filmed for the in universe TV show. The shots in that segment are mediums shots which establishes the TV show as normal and regular for the next shots to seem jarring due to the juxtaposition of tones. Then a balloon pops and it cuts straight to black with diegetic sounds of the monkey ( Gordy) shouting and other people's screams (action code) which serves as an abrupt tone shift to put the audience in the characters' shoes. Next, it cuts to a handheld shot that is moving through the set of the TV show. This long take has no backing track ,only mostly quiet diegetic noise, which creates a heavy sense of unease, enigma codes and builds tension throughout the scene. That shot ends with Gordy being in frame but mostly covered still keeping the sense of enigma and mystery.
It then harshly cuts to black then cuts to a medium shot of the boy (Jupe) looking afraid whilst hiding under a table. Then it's a POV shot from Jupes perspective as he watches the monkey and half of the frame is covered by a mostly clear table cloth which further puts the audience in the character's position like we are hiding with him. After that, there is a shot reverse shot of June watching Gordy hit the woman and the man. However, most the gore and brutality is hidden behind objects like the couch or the swinging door.
There's a close up on the shoe that is standing up, this object is focused on because it's an important part of Jupe's character and his association with miracles. In this whole scene we are in Jupe's perspective so the shoe standing up could possibly fabricated in his mind to make light of the situation he had went through. There is another POV shot watching as Gordy gets closer building tension and fear. Then there is a close up as their fists are about to touch and another close up of the blood on the table cloth. The last shot is a medium close up of Jupe's terrified facial expression with blood splattered (makeup/ special effects) on it as there is the sound of police sirens in the background.
In addition, Gordy's costume is a yellow jumper whilst wearing a party had which is juxtaposed with the imagery of blood all over him. This costume choice shows the unpredictability of a wild animal since in one moment they can be calm and innocent (yellow can connote to happiness and with the added hat it connotes to being child-like) but they always have the power to go feral just as Gordy did . Overall, the scene has multiple POV shots which is used to make the scene more disturbing because it makes the audience be in Jupe's position and it produces empathy from the audience for June especially since he is a child in the scene.
